This week we welcomed Bob Hoffman, Manager of Public Relations, from the Wharton Center. He also brought his intern, Rhena, who is a sophomore at MSU. Bob explained that the Wharton Center is a Performing Arts Venue but also a Rental Facility, specifically to the Lansing Symphony Orchestra. Over 225,000 patrons visit the Wharton per year. On average patrons spend $38 million locally in restaurants, hotels, and local shops and approximately 50% of audience members are outside the Tri Country area. The Wharton Center Institute for Arts & Creativity was launched in 2008. This allows valuable education programs for younger people. They reach over 30,000 young people every year. Seats 4 Kids allows for kids to experience the performing arts. Your contribution provides tickets to economically disadvantaged children through local community service organizations and Title 1 schools. The 2021-2022 Broadway Series includes Hadestown, Cats, Disney’s Frozen, Mean Girls, Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, and Ain’t Too Proud.
